'...And as I looked out at the pre-dawn sky, a gritty grey-yellow, I suddenly became aware of a presence. An overwhelming, commanding presence of such magnitude that I simply couldn't place it. It seemed as though the sun had already risen, and not only in the sky but blazing right behind my head, so intense was the energy, and it was all I could do not to fall off the post. As I stretched my neck to look around, I found myself gazing up at an impossibly tall, and equally beautiful, naked male figure whose face was barely visible beneath his flowing hair and incandescent halo.
And then, I really did fall off the fence post.
Smouldering, blackened souls threw themselves to the ground and on top of each other to form a bridge for their lord to step upon. As he moved upon them their bodies turned to ash, cushioning his infernal feet against the rude and coarse earth of his enemy's creation.
“Behold, Lord Lucifer,” voices chanted in a tritonic discord of devilish music.
I couldn't remember the form of supplication for one of my rank, it had been so long, and very rarely had I ever had just cause to come face to face with the Lord of Light. So I threw myself on my face, before someone else did it for me.
“Rise,” the golden voice told me lazily as though fending off an almighty yawn...'
